What to know

Individual FamilySearch sign-in

The planned connection sends the user to FamilySearch to authorize access through the documented authorization-code flow with PKCE. Surreality does not collect a FamilySearch password, use a shared account, or place access tokens in browser storage.

Review before adding

Search results should preserve FamilySearch IDs and source context. Before adding a person to the Surreality tree, review the proposed match, compare relationships and life details, and check for duplicates.

Confirm before contributing

A supported write to FamilySearch Beta requires an explicit confirmation step. Proposed genealogical information supplied by the user must remain reviewable, and AI suggestions must not be presented as established facts.

Beta boundaries

The integration is for FamilySearch Beta and dedicated test records. It is not production approval and does not authorize historical-record scraping, bulk harvesting, indexed-record retrieval, shared credentials, or AI-training use.
